I had the pleasure to be invited to talk to Dr. Hashil Al Saadi’s class at SQU this week. Our discussion was centered around how undergrads need to change their approach and job outlook in Oman. As the economy changes, there will be more emphasis on “Self-Dependence”. It is important to clearly explain what self-dependence means and how to operationalize it. The discussion starts with an overview of “How did we get here”, a question I get asked often about the Omani economy.
