TikTok Helps Tuna Overhaul Its Image
Sales of canned seafood were up 10% in the U.S in 2022. One producer of canned tuna saw their revenues increased by 82% last year. The canned seafood market is a $30 billion dollar industry, with the U.S market share making up $2.6 billion of that.
Why? Turns out a tiktok trend is credited for increasing demand.
The TikToks, in which canned fish boards are prepared as part of a romantic date night charcuterie boards, has us all going crazy for canned seafood.
This is a welcomed trend in my household. I love tuna, sardines, and anchovies.
